Today is the start of September!! It's still hot every day, but I can hear the chirping of crickets at night. When September comes, I can't get the song "September" by Earth, Wind and Fire out of my head.
Well, this time I would like to introduce the next page of memory keeping using stamps from "Day By Day". You can see the previous page from the link below.
◾️Memory Keeping with "Day By Day"
In the two previous times, it felt like time had stopped due to my children being sick and recovering, so this week was a frantic one for me to get through the things that had been piling up and get back to normal.
Usually, I write down funny episodes or things my kids say and do on my phone, but this week I didn't write anything down. I looked back and couldn't remember what had happened, so much so that I thought about just skipping this week's page.
I was working on a different week's page, and when I came back to it, inspiration struck me. And this is the page I came up with!
I boldly (?!) used the typewriter stamp from " 365: June "!
Each typewriter represents a day, and there are seven typewriters, from Monday to Sunday. To balance things out, I stamped them in three rows of three horizontally.
The first typewriter paper 365 : "FEB" from " February ." It fit perfectly!
For the dates from Monday to Sunday, I used a small-sized Shiny rotating date stamp. It's very easy to use, and I've been using it for probably about 12 years now!
I was wondering what to stamp on the last typewriter, but I wanted something that stood out a little more than the first "FEB", so I used my favorite alphabet stamp. 365 : I used `` Hikari '' to stamp ``2023.''
The background was also from 365: This is the alphabet for "Hikari ". This task took a little time, but since I just had to stamp it without thinking, it was good to be able to clear my mind after a series of days with intense emotional ups and downs.
The only time was when I was taking notes about my kids' anecdotes. I thought about giving up because there wasn't enough room on the paper part of the typewriter, but then inspiration struck me again!
I stamped the typewriter on another piece of paper, cut out just the paper part, pasted it on top of the other, and turned the page.
I used Scotch Mending Tape, which is essential for wrapping presents. I use a lot of it during the Christmas season, so I keep it in stock. It's a slightly cloudy, translucent tape that feels slimy to the touch.
I wanted it to be inconspicuous, so I stuck tape on the back and pressed it firmly to make it curve so it wouldn't stick out. It wasn't masking tape or regular clear cellophane tape, but it turned out just right.
Looking at this page now, I don't remember much about that week. But because I'm writing this down, I remember the conversations we had and the feelings I had at the time.
And to my surprise, as I was writing this, I remembered another conversation: "The traffic light is green. Green means go. Red means stop." I'll add this one somewhere too.
If I hadn't written them down, I would have forgotten these trivial conversations. It made me feel my child's growth and warmed my heart. Memory keeping is a good thing after all.
Well, the next time will be on Friday, September 8th. I would like to show you how to make this alphabet background.
There are only four months left in the year, and I feel a little anxious, but I really hope I can stay healthy. I'll do my best to give you some good news soon!
Thank you very much!
