Let's play with '365: Pretty Patterns'! #001

2023-7 Day By Day 『365: Pretty Patterns』 365

The possibilities are endless depending on your ideas! That's the perfect phrase for "365: Pretty Patterns." Creating samples is always exciting, as I wonder "Can I do that? Can I do that?!" This time was especially fun. I was so engrossed that my neck hurt! (I had been stamping for a long time while looking down...)

365 Pretty Patterns

I hope you all have a lot of fun making them, so for your reference I would like to share some of the patterns I created using "365: Pretty Patterns."

First of all, this.

At first glance, this stamp shape makes you wonder, "What is this!?" If you connect and stamp these together, you will get a pattern with round windows here and there. Many of the 365 stamps (about 2cm in size) can fit into these round windows, making for some cute uses.

This time's idea #001 is a pattern in which the animals from " 365: Happy Memo " and " 365: Cafe " are peeking out of a round window. To make it a little more three-dimensional, I stamped Hana-chan on a separate piece of paper, cut it out, and pasted it down as if she was sitting in the round window. This Hana-chan also appears in " 365: Happy Memo ," and it makes a cute stamp when you stamp it onto the lines or squares of your notebook so that it sits there.

Connect the pieces like this and stamp them.

It's not difficult at first, but as you start to connect more parts, you might start to worry, "Is it around here? Is it a little off?" At first, I hesitated to stamp, thinking, "Okay! This is it!" But as you get used to it, your body will somehow pick up the feel and you'll get the hang of it.

When connecting the stamps, it seems best to place them so that they slightly overlap the already stamped areas. (Indicated by the black arrow) The greatest appeal of clear stamps is that you can visibly arrange the stamps however you like.

When you stamp...

① Do not separate the connected part from the paper.

② From there, gradually work your way in the direction of the pink arrow, pressing the stamp slowly against the paper. It may be hard to tell from the photo, but the dark yellow parts are where the stamp is on the paper, and the light yellow parts are still floating in the air. You'll get a nicer print if you gradually work your way in the same direction rather than stamping all at once.

However, if you look closely, you'll notice that the "left side and top of the panda" and "Hana-chan's right side" are misaligned, resulting in a white gap. Tomorrow, I'd like to show you how to get rid of this white gap (!?).
