The possibilities are endless depending on your ideas! That's the perfect phrase for "365: Pretty Patterns." Following on from the previous blog post "Let's play with 365: Pretty Patterns! #001," here is idea #002 using this stamp.
This time, I would like to introduce a way to cover up (?!) the white gaps that appear when you are unable to connect the stamps properly.
This is the pattern this time.
In the previous blog post "Let's play with 365: Pretty Patterns! #001," the pattern was two colors, pink and yellow, but this time I tried using one lively color. I wonder if the pattern looks more seamless with only one color?
The stamp used in the round window features " 365: Nippon - Natsu ," just in time for the season.
If you look closely at the background (orange), you can see some roughness...
I'll leave the parts that are a little bit misaligned or where the ink has smudged as "flavor," and go with the pink circled parts... I think the white gaps stand out more because the pattern is orange. In those cases, I stamp the gaps again.
① First, apply enough ink to fill in the blanks as shown in the image.
② Fit it into the gap and gently stamp it.
That's all there is to it, but if you look at it from a distance you can disguise it so that it's not really noticeable.
If you stamp in the round window, your eyes will be drawn to it, so although it's not perfect, it's a recovery that makes you think "oh well, it's okay"!
Before you give up and start over because there are gaps and you think, "Oh no, I messed up," please give this a try. I think it can be stressful to stamp this type of stamp perfectly, so it might be best to just relax and think of small mistakes as part of the "flavor."
I still have a lot of ideas for "365: Pretty Patterns" that I want to introduce, but tomorrow, the day before the July release, I would like to talk about looking back on the past year of the "Day By Day" monthly series. Please check back on my blog when you have time . Thank you very much.
