Today is Mountain Day, a national holiday. The first year I came back to Japan, I didn't know it was Mountain Day, so I went hiking at Mt. Takao, but it was so crowded. The cable cars and the lifts were so crowded. I had to wait for two hours, and was told it would be quicker to climb the mountain. It was also a training session before climbing Mt. Fuji, so it turned out fine. I want to go mountain climbing again, but it's tough in this heat. That's right.
Well, this time I would like to introduce the memory keeping page for 2019. This year was full of ups and downs, and a lot of things happened, so I was not able to finish the memory keeping for the whole year. Although I made a few more pages, this was the last page I wrote a blog post on. For some reason, this article was never published, so I would like to introduce it to you.
Coincidentally, both the 2023 Memory Keeping page I introduced last time and this page are about my visit to Tama Zoo! My memory keeping style and blog writing style are different from now, so I hope you find it useful.
By the way, you can view the 2019 Memory Keeping page from the link below.
◾️Memory Keeping 2019
This week's page has a lively and fun feel to it, as we went to the zoo.
The design of the restaurant card for "Khao Man Gai" was so cute that I decided to use it as is. I tore off the bottom part of the card by hand and pasted it on top of the layers with memo paper and masking tape. It somehow feels like it has a sense of unity. I did the same with the "Goemon" chopsticks packaging, ripping it apart and pasting it on top of the masking tape.
When you tear it by hand, you may not be able to tear it into the shape you want, or you may tear off an important part, which can be disappointing. When that happens, don't worry too much about it and think about Plan B, and strangely enough, a good idea will come to you.
When I first started Memory Keeping, I couldn't be satisfied unless I stuck it on straight and stamped it neatly, but before I knew it, I didn't care at all. I think that the crooked masking tape and the misaligned stamps are what give it character, and I feel more attached to the pages I create. I think that by not thinking too much and just filling the canvas freely, you can enjoy Memory Keeping, including the process.
The paint and pen stamps are from " 365: School ". The various pens are divided into "outline" and "colored" stamps, so you can express pens of various colors.
Just lining up the paints and stamping them can be super cute!
The page on the right records a visit to Tama Zoo on the day of the 30th anniversary of the Emperor's reign. The animals are stamps from " 365: Family & Friends ," the chickens from " 365: Line ," and the children from " 365: Family ."
" 365: Family & Friends " is also divided into stamps with [outlines] and [colored parts]. Although you can use just the outlines, they become very cute when colored, so please try it! I hope it will be helpful to see which stamps can be combined.
By the way... "Khao Man Gai" is a Thai restaurant in Tachikawa. I suddenly had a craving for Thai food, so I went there. It had been a while since I had Thai food, so I ended up ordering too much, but it was delicious!
When I lived in Hawaii, there were a lot of immigrants, so there was a lot of food from various countries around. There are a lot of delicious foods in Japan, so it's hard to decide where to go when eating out, but if you suddenly decide you want to eat a certain dish, it can be hard to find a place to eat that dish. (I'm sure there are plenty in Tokyo, though.) I'm currently researching where to eat delicious THE Hawaiian food (traditional Hawaiian food that's not loco moco or garlic shrimp) and pho!
