Let's play with "365: Pretty Patterns"! #008

2023-7 Create & Inspire 『365: Pretty Patterns』 365

The possibilities are endless depending on your ideas! That's the perfect phrase for "365: Pretty Patterns." The eighth installment of the "365: Pretty Patterns" series features two simple patterns.

365 Pretty Patterns

It's just a print of a pattern lined up like #006 and #007 , but this time I used only one color of ink to create the pattern. It's very simple, but it's a cute pattern that can be used as a background for a planner, journal, greeting card, etc.

Let's start with the bookshelf stamp pattern in #003 , which created a cute library-like scene.

As expected, it ended up bent. Some parts of the ink had smudged. When I first tried to use this stamp, the center part of the print didn't print cleanly.

This is a fairly large stamp, and there are many other small ones lined up on the bookshelf, so the trick to getting a nice print is to apply ink evenly and make sure the entire stamp is pressed evenly onto the paper.

Please check out this YouTube video to find out how to apply ink evenly! (The video starts right at that point.)

Also, when printing the pattern in a straight line, I think it's best to use a ruler and draw faint temporary lines.

And here is the house and tree stamp pattern.

When you look at it like this, it's hard to tell where one stamp ends and the other begins. It's a very cute pattern.

By the way, I used the same ink color for the bookshelf as the "chestnut brown" pattern, and the same color for the house and tree as the "sand brown" pattern.

I'll be introducing another pattern I made using the house and tree stamps tomorrow. Let's play with 365: Pretty Patterns! This is the last of the 9th series! Please come back and check it out. Thank you.
